The Mormon Corner
Some of you may have noticed I added a little Mormon Corner to the sideblog. There is a lot of interesting Mormon stuff on the internet and I thought I'd put a few links up when I see something some of ya'll Mormons might want to read. Feel free to suggest something or put it up on your own blogs if you see something worth reading.

I couldn't get the link for the natural nursery to work. These look like interesting blogs...thanks for sharing.
I fixed the link. It's to a post on a waldorf style nursery on Feminist Mormon Housewives.
I just read the "natural nursery" article, and several of the comments made me laugh outloud. I have opinions about it, and I'm curious to hear yours...=)
The comments went really crazy, didn't they? there is a follow up post that clarifies the original poster's position that is helpful.
I really like the idea, but I can see it would be difficult to make happen in many wards. Maybe I should work up an alternative Montessori Nursery outline :-)
I think our Nursery is due for some changes with VH in there now, once some things are clarified. She is great.
Wow, I couldn't even get through half of those comments on nursery! Very interesting. I do agree with a lot of the people that the nursery schedule is already pretty similar and hopefully VH can help that be followed consistently, I think being consistent makes all the difference. I do think things have improved a lot just since the older kids have finally moved on, it just Jan though and we've had snow and conference.
I do have issues with the snacks though. I prefer the family style seating and serving as well, that is how SM does it at school. I don't think they need to go next door and have all the plates set out so they enter on a big feast. That's my 2 cents anyway.
I will say I don't agree with all of the last article though, but it would make a good discussion.
Thanks for your comments guys. FYI, I don't particularly agree or disagree with any of these things I post- just things I found interesting or thought provoking. Glad you are enjoying them.
I'd be interested to see a write-up of a Montessori style nursery. My sister attended a Montessory preschool. I haven't looked into it as much as Waldorf (a whopping 1.5 books, heh), but I like getting ideas from all corners.
Glad you liked the post. It was a wild ride for me. ;)
